What is PD IEC PAS 63267‑3‑30 about?
PD IEC PAS 63267‑3‑30 is a document on fibre optic interconnecting devices and passive components. PD IEC PAS 63267‑3‑30 defines certain dimensional limits of a 16F MM angled PC rectangular polyphenylene sulphide (PPS) ferrule optical interface in order to meet specific longitudinal offset requirements for fibre-to-fibre interconnection.
Ferrules made from the material specified in PD IEC PAS 63267‑3‑30 are suitable for use in categories C, OP, OP+, I and E. PD IEC PAS 63267‑3‑30 contains ferrule interface dimensions and features that deal with fibre optic connector interfaces.
Who is PD IEC PAS 63267‑3‑30 for?
PD IEC PAS 63267‑3‑30 on fibre optic interconnecting devices and passive components is useful for:
- Manufacturers of fibre optic interconnecting devices
- Medical facilities that use medical electrical equipment
- Military organizations that use sonar systems
- Telecommunication companies
- Television cable providers
- Infrastructure development sectors
- Internet providers
- Quality control professionals
- Regulatory authorities
Why should you use PD IEC PAS 63267‑3‑30?
Fibre-optic communication is a method of transmitting information from one place to another by sending pulses of infrared light through fibre. PD IEC PAS 63267‑3‑30 introduces the multimode angled PC rectangular ferrule. The performance of this ferrule is determined by the accuracy with which the optical datum targets of two mating ferrules when aligned with each other.
PD IEC PAS 63267‑3‑30 defines the dimensional limits of angled PC rectangular ferrules with a single row of 16 fibres. The fibre centres are spaced with a nominal alignment pitch of 0,25 mm.
PD IEC PAS 63267‑3‑30 implementation on fibre optic interconnecting devices and passive components is beneficial as an optical fibre connector joins fibres and enables quicker connection and disconnection compared to splicing. The connectors mechanically couple and align the cores of fibres so that light can pass. Using PD IEC PAS 63267‑3‑30 you can manufacture fibre optic interconnecting devices and passive components that have a better interface.
