What is PD IEC PAS 63324 about?
PD IEC PAS 63324 is a standard that covers Zhaga interface specifications for Book 1 and Book 10 for LED light engines which ensures safety and compliance with regulatory rules.
In PD IEC PAS 63324, Book 10 defines interfaces between LED Modules, associate components (Holders) and luminaires. Not all interface descriptions are applicable to LED Modules or Holders, but where applicable they are identical
PD IEC PAS 63324 interface descriptions is focused on range of LED Modules with circular shape and high luminance LES. A LED module is intended to be fixed to a luminaire heat sink by means of screws. Its light output distribution is primarily Lambertian to enable Luminaire optics to shape an application-specific light distribution independently of that of LED Module.
PD IEC PAS 63324, Book 10 defines several size categories of the LED Module such as 35 mm and 50 mm maximum outer diameter. These size categories can have different LES diameters and different LES categories such as LES6.3, LES 9, LES 13.5, LES 19, LES 23.
Who is PD IEC PAS 63324 for?
PD IEC PAS 63324 on Zhaga interface specification Book 1 and Book 10 is applicable to:
- Manufacturers of LED modules
- Dealers, suppliers and importers of LED modules
- Testing houses and labs for LED modules
Why should you use PD IEC PAS 63324?
Zhaga Consortium is a multinational partnership of lighting firms from around the world. Its ultimate goal is to create interface specifications that will allow LED light sources from various manufacturers to be utilized interchangeably without requiring changes to the luminaire design.
PD IEC PAS 63324 provides you size categories of LED module and LES diameters for different LES categories which allows you to standardize the production of LED light engines and LED modules.
PD IEC PAS 63324 provides you information on the mechanical interface, photometric interface, electrical interface, thermal interface, compliance tests, luminaire compliance tests which allows you to produce effective LED modules with high energy efficiency.
Guidance in PD IEC PAS 63324 allows you to standardize performance and safety elements relating to LED modules and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.
