What is PD IEC PAS 63328 about?
PD IEC PAS 63328 is a standard that covers Zhaga interface specification Book 1 and Book 12 for LED arrays which ensures standardization of LED Arrays and compliance with regulatory rules.
In PD IEC PAS 63328, Book 12 defines LED Arrays with a rectangular shape and a circular light emitting surface. For each LED Array, this Book 12 also defines the mechanical interface between the LED Array and the corresponding Holder. The mechanical interface between the Holder and the Luminaire (e.g. outline, OCA and mounting holes) is defined in [Book-10].
PD IEC PAS 63328 covers LED arrays that are intended to be mounted on a heat sink by means of a Holder and to be connected to a separate Electronic Control Gear. The light output is essentially Lambertian to enable the Luminaire Optics to shape the application’s desired light distribution from a defined input.
Who is PD IEC PAS 63328 for?
PD IEC PAS 63328 on Zhaga interface specification Book 1 and Book 12 applies to:
- Manufacturers of LED Array
- Dealers and importers of LED Arrays
- Testing houses and labs for LED Arrays
Why should you use PD IEC PAS 63328?
The Zhaga Consortium is a global lighting-industry organization that aims to standardize components of LED luminaires, including LED light engines, LED modules, LED arrays, holders, electronic control gear (LED drivers) and connectivity fit systems.
PD IEC PAS 63328 provides you guidance on mechanical interface between LED Array and holder which ensure the operational stability and efficiency of the production and assessment of LED arrays.
PD IEC PAS 63328 provides you guidance on mechanical interface, photometric interface, electrical interface, thermal interface, compliance test tools which allows you to standardize the production of LED Array.
The guidance in PD IEC PAS 63328 allows you to standardize the performance and safety elements relating to LED arrays and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
