What is PD IEC TS 63156 about?
PD IEC TS 63156 is an international document that describes the procedure for evaluating the energy conversion performance of stand-alone or grid-connected power conversion equipment (PCE) used in PV systems. This procedure includes the calculation of inverter performance to anticipate the energy yield of PV systems.
PD IEC TS 63156 can be used as the energy evaluation method, which defines a procedure for evaluating a PV system’s actual energy production relative to its modelled or expected performance.
Who is PD IEC TS 63156 for?
PD IEC TS 63156 on photovoltaic system for energy evaluation method is applicable to:
- Companies dealing with solar panels
- Manufactures and suppliers of photovoltaic/solar panels
Why should you use PD IEC TS 63156?
A photovoltaic system also known as solar power system, which is an electric power designed to supply usable solar power by means of photovoltaics.
PD IEC TS 63156 gives you the performance of a power conversion equipment in which one of the significant indices is to evaluate the performance of a photovoltaic system.
Since there are areas where meteorological conditions, especially irradiance, change greatly and could affect the performance of power conversion equipment, a performance evaluation method under dynamic conditions needs to be defined. PD IEC TS 63156 describes you the procedure for evaluating the dynamic performance and energy production efficiency of power conversion equipment in a particular location using site-specific solar profiles.
