What is ISO 4445 about?
ISO/TR 4445 describes a basic role model of smart city intelligent transport systems (ITS) service applications as a common platform for smart city instantiation, directly communicating via secure ITS interfaces.
ISO/TR 4445 provides a paradigm describing:
- A framework for the provision of a cooperative ITS service application
- A description of the concept of operations, regulatory aspects and options, and the role models
- A conceptual architecture between actors involved in the provision/receipt of ITS service applications
- References for the key documents on which the architecture is based
- A taxonomy of the organization of generic procedures
NOTE- ISO/TR 4445 does not describe smart city use cases for ITS data in any detail nor does it describe in detail any specific ITS use cases.
Who is ISO/TR 4445 for?
ISO/TR 4445 on intelligent transport systems is useful for:
- International Data Corporation (IDC) researcher
- ITS service provider
- Vehicle user (RV/RVU)
- VRU (vulnerable road user)
- Micro-mobility user
- Public transport service provider
- MaaS service provider
- Regulatory authority of intelligent transport systems
Why should you use ISO/TR 4445?
The incorporation of electronic regulation is especially important for automated vehicles and it is essential to incorporate it as a core element of urban ITS. ISO/TR 4445 describes how ITS data can be presented, interchanged and used by smart cities. It is focused on the generic role model for data exchange between ITS and smart cities.
ISO/TR 4445 helps you in the creation of a common open role model for smart city data platforms that will aid the realization of future mobility such as automated driving and electrification of vehicles. ISO/TR 4445describes a common role model directly communicating via secure ITS interfaces i.e., exchanges information with bi-directional protection beneficial for connecting two devices to cooperate in a trusted way.
The trust relation enables two devices to cooperate in a trusted way, i.e., to exchange information in secure application sessions, and thus only access data or request data that they have the appropriate credentials to access.
