What is ISO/TS 21236‑1 - Specifications for layered clay nanomaterials about?
ISO/TS 21236 discusses clay nanomaterials for nanotechnologies. ISO/TS 21236‑1 is an international standard that provides specifications of layered clay nanomaterials.
ISO/TS 21236‑1 is the first part of a multi-part series that outlines characteristics to be measured of layered clay nanomaterials in powder form and chemically modified ones and describes their relevant measurement methods.
Note: ISO/TS 21236‑1 does not deal with health, safety, and environmental issues.
Who is ISO/TS 21236‑1 - Specifications for layered clay nanomaterials for?
ISO/TS 21236‑1 on specifications for layered clay nanomaterials is useful for:
- Manufacturers of layered clay nanomaterials
- Test centers for layered clay nanomaterials
- Purification industries
- Engineers and developers for agricultural and food engineering applications
- Regulatory bodies
Why should you use ISO/TS 21236‑1 -Specifications for layered clay nanomaterials?
Layered clay nanomaterials are a subgroup of clay materials with the external dimension (thickness) or the internal structural dimension (interlayer distance) in the nanoscale. The clay itself, as the most important group of layered nanostructured silicates, refers to naturally occurring or synthetic material composed primarily of fine-grained minerals.
ISO/TS 21236‑1 guideline assists you with characteristics, chemical composition content, mineral composition content, interlayer distance, thickness, bulk density, cation exchange capacity, methylene blue adsorption capacity, specific surface area, electrical resistivity, and more measurement methods for layered clay nanomaterials.
ISO/TS 21236‑1 encourages standardization of the quality for layered clay nanomaterials and assist in facilitating communication between sellers and buyers of these nanomaterials for different applications.
