What is ISO/TS 21480 about?
ISO/TS 21480 specifies requirements for the recycling of building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) modules. It is suitable for crystalline silicon PV modules and thin-film modules.
Who is ISO/TS 21480 for?
ISO/TS 21480 on technical requirements of recycling of BIPV is relevant to:
- Construction companies
- Designers
- Environmental authorities
- Recycling corporations
- Entities involved in recycling, reuse and decommissioning of PV
Why should you use ISO/TS 21480?
One of the most encouraging renewable energy technologies is photovoltaics (PV). PV is a truly refined means of producing electricity on site, directly from the sun, without concern for energy supply or environmental harm.
BIPV is the integration of PV into the building envelope. The PV modules assist the dual function of building skin replacing conventional building envelope materials and power generators.
The fundamental principle behind ISO/TS 21480 is to maximize resource utilisation and minimize environmental pollution.
ISO/TS 21480 provides the classification of PV modules based on type of cell, structure of encapsulation and abandoned condition.
ISO/TS 21480 specifies requirements for the recycling of building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) modules, by the integration and recycling of these modules you can ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all.
