What is ISO 22082 about ?
ISO 22082 is an international standard which discusses nanotechnologies. ISO 22082 specifies a method for rapidly assessing nanomaterial toxicity (fish early life stage, 0 HPF to 120 HPF).
ISO 22082 includes specifies the importance of a cellular chorion removal, detailed chorion removal procedures, and a complete protocol for the toxicity assessment of nanomaterial using dechorionated zebrafish embryos. The focus of ISO 22082 is on testing nanomaterial toxicity.
Who is ISO 22082 for ?
ISO 22082 on nanomaterial toxicity assessment is relevant to:
- Manufacturing of nanotechnologies
- Retailers and suppliers of nanomaterials
- Companies dealing with implementing nanotechnology
Why should you use ISO 22082 ?
Nanomaterial due to the small sizes, it enters cell's nucleus and blood-brain barrier easily and crosses the body organs via interactions with proteins and other components, which in result evokes inflammatory and toxic immune response.
ISO 22082 gives you guidance for assessing the nanomaterial toxicity such as solubilizing agent which can disperse and stabilize nanomaterial in solution, range-finding test is an abbreviated test that exposes test organism to a broad range of nanomaterial testing solutions to establish the range of the test, positive test and spawning.
ISO 22082 provides an optimized procedure which removes chorions along with it recommends on how to conduct toxicity using dechorionated zebrafish embryos. ISO 22082 also discusses the advantages of toxicity assay using dechorionated embryos.
As a user of ISO 22082, you can acquire the test procedure, testing of nanomaterials and testing of species for assuring and manufacturing the nanomaterial toxicity for nanotechnologies.
