What is ISO/TS 22295 about?
ISO/TS 22295 discusses standards for modeling of space environment impact on nanostructured materials. ISO/TS 22295 considers peculiarities of the space environment impact on a special kind of materials: nanostructured materials (i.e., materials with structured objects whose size in at least one dimension lies within 1 nm to 100 nm) and specifies the methods of mathematical simulation of such processes.
ISO/TS 22295 emphasizes the necessity of applying a multiscale simulation approach and does not include any special details concerning concrete materials, elements of spacecraft construction and equipment, etc.
ISO/TS 22295 provides the general description of the methodology of applying computer simulation methods that relate to different space and time scales to modelling processes occurring in nanostructured materials under the space environment impact.
ISO/TS 22295 can be applied as a reference document in spacecraft designing, forecasting the spacecraft lifetime, conducting ground-based tests, and analyzing changes of material properties during operation.
Who is ISO/TS 22295 for?
ISO/TS 22295 on nanostructured materials for space environment is applicable for:
- Aerospace and defense industries
- Agencies involved in making aerospace applications
- Spacecraft manufacturing industries
- Testing agencies involved in the inspection of aerospace products
- Aerospace transport system
Why should you use ISO/TS 22295?
It is necessary to determine the space environment components, critical for nanomaterials, and to develop novel methods of the mathematical and experimental simulation of the space environment impact on nanomaterials.
The main concept of ISO/TS 22295 provides you with is:
- For main space environment components to choose the most important space and time scales
- For every scale to choose the most important physical and chemical processes that occur in nanostructured materials under the influence of the given space environment component and can be considered as elementary for the chosen scale
- For every process to determine a method (or a group of methods) that can be used for their simulations under space environment conditions
- For every chosen method to describe necessary and possible approximations as well as its limitation when used for simulation of the given process
ISO/TS 22295 provides you with information on the most important software for multiscale simulation in different space and time scales, which will help to calculate the optical, mechanical, vibrational, and other observable properties of molecules, nanostructures and solids materials with.
