What is this PD ISO/TS 50008 about?
PD ISO/TS 50008 gives guidelines for how the energy management team (EnMT) in an organization can define, request and regularly access the data and information needed to implement an energy management system (EnMS) designed to continually improve energy performance in buildings.
PD ISO/TS 50008 is applicable to data provided by human processes or by building automation, control, information technology, or even accounting systems. If the building information system (BIS) is accessible by the EnMT, the BIS can facilitate the provision of data and information. This could include data used in determining significant energy uses (SEUs), managing to improve energy performance (including energy consumption, energy use and energy efficiency) through to the use of energy performance indicators (EnPIs).
Note: PD ISO/TS 50008 does not apply to:
- Residential or industrial buildings;
- Buildings containing an industrial process where the industrial processes cannot be separated from other uses.
Who is this PD ISO/TS 50008 for?
PD ISO/TS 50008 on building energy data management for energy performance is useful for:
- Construction industry
- Civil engineer
- Members of EnMT organisation
- Installer of energy management and energy savings
Why should you use this PD ISO/TS 50008?
Energy management is the process of tracking and optimizing energy consumption to conserve usage in a building.
PD ISO/TS 50008 helps in guiding members of EnMT to analyse data which helps in easy to execute and understand and also need for a natural degree of randomness.
PD ISO/TS 50008 help user for maintaining the effectiveness, quality and transparency of a building EnMS and to keep it confidential
Overall, the use of standardized data formats, systems or specifications can help the EnMT manage data in the most efficient manner. Members of EnMT can determine the sources of data needed to implement an EnMS, and the subsequent collection of those data. This process assumes that the EnMT is in place and has identified the essential quantitative parameters to be used for energy management
