1 Scope
This standard specifies characteristics of a nickel-chromium-molybdenum steel supplied in the following forms, and as parts, for general aerospace use:
- a) forging stock, designation S99A;
- b) forgings: softened, designation S99C;
- c) forgings: hardened and tempered, designation S99F;
- d) black bars for machining: softened, designation S99B;
- e) black bars for machining: hardened and tempered, designation S99E;
- f) bright bars for machining: softened, designation S99D;
- g) bright bars for machining: hardened and tempered, designation S99G.
