What is ISO 27127-Thermoplastic multi-layer hoses and hose assemblies about?
ISO 27127 specifies requirements for two types of thermoplastic multi-layer transfer hoses and hose assemblies for carrying liquefied petroleum gas and liquefied natural gas. Each type is subdivided into two classes, one for onshore duties, and the other for offshore.
- Class A hose is for use onshore
- Class B hose is for use offshore
ISO 27127 is applicable for hose sizes from 25 mm to 250 mm, working pressures from 10,5 bar to 25 bar, and operating temperatures from −196 °C to +45 °C, according to class.
Who is ISO 27127-Thermoplastic multi-layer hoses and hose assemblies for?
ISO 27127 on the specification of thermoplastic multi-layer (non-vulcanized) hoses and hose assemblies is useful for:
- Suppliers of Hoses and hose assemblies
- Manufacturers of hoses and hose assemblies
- Entities dealing with hoses and hose assemblies
Why should you use ISO 27127-Thermoplastic multi-layer hoses and hose assemblies?
Thermoplastics are polymers with a unique capacity to become soft, pliable, and modulable when heated while solidifying upon cooling.
The onshore hose is part of a hose system for transporting abrasive hydro-mixtures over the onshore line. Their wear-resistance and long service life provide optimum savings when working on long projects.
Ensure the high quality of thermoplastic multi-layer hoses and hose assemblies with the help of ISO 27127 which gives you the information about requirements for two types of hoses and hose assemblies for carrying liquefied petroleum gas and liquefied natural gas, one for onshore duties, and the other for offshore.
What’s changed since the last update?
BS ISO 27127:2021 supersedes ISO 27127:2014, which is withdrawn.
The main changes compared to the previous edition are as follows:
- The normative references have been updated and revised (Clause 2)
- The tolerance on the minimum temperature has been removed (Table 1)
- Material numbers of helix have been added (Clause 5)
- The tolerance on inside diameter 150 has been modified (Table 2)
- Change in length and twist at proof pressure has been modified to maximum working pressure (Clause 7)
- Flammability test has been added (Table 3)
