What is ISO 7368 – Cavities in Hydraulic fluid power about?
ISO 7368 is an international standard on hydraulic fluid power that discusses cavities for two-port slip-in cartridge valves to ensure interchangeability.
ISO 7368 specifies only geometrical data relating to cavities in which two-port hydraulic slip-in cartridge valves are mounted.
ISO 7368 applies to cavities for two-port hydraulic slip-in cartridge valves which are generally applicable to industrial equipment.
Note: ISO 7368 does not specify rated pressures.
Who is ISO 7368 – Cavities in Hydraulic fluid power for?
ISO 7368 on cavities in hydraulic fluid power is useful for:
- Hydraulic fluid power systems manufacturers
- Hydraulic industries
- Valve manufacturing companies
- Industrial equipment manufacturers
Why should you use ISO 7368 – Cavities in Hydraulic fluid power?
In hydraulic fluid power systems, power is transmitted and controlled through a liquid under pressure within an enclosed circuit. Typical components found in such systems are hydraulic valves.
ISO 7368 assists you by providing the required geometrical data and dimensions for cavities for hydraulic slip-in cartridge valves with two main ports.
ISO 7368 provides cavity dimensions for all types of valves, except main system pressure-relief valves, with main ports of 16 mm nominal diameter (size 06), 25 mm nominal diameter (size 08), 32 mm nominal diameter (size 09), 40 mm nominal diameter (size 10), 50 mm nominal diameter (size 11), 63 mm nominal diameter (size 12), 80 mm nominal diameter (size 13), 100 mm nominal diameter (size 14), 125 mm nominal diameter (size 15) and 160 mm nominal diameter (size 16)
ISO 7368 also provides cavity dimensions for main system pressure-relief valves with main ports of 16 mm nominal diameter (size 06), 25 mm nominal diameter (size 08), 32 mm nominal diameter (size 09), 40 mm nominal diameter (size 10), 50 mm nominal diameter (size 11) and 63 mm nominal diameter (size 12).
With compliance and obedience to ISO 7368, you can enhance the efficacy of cavities.
What’s changed since the last update?
BS ISO 7368:2016 supersedes BS 7296-1:1990, which is withdrawn. BS ISO 7368:2016 has made some technical changes compared to BS 7296-1:1990. These include:
- New sizes 15 and 16 are introduced
- Surface tolerances for sealing purposes are aligned with ISO 3601-2
