What is BS M 62 - Testing of clamp blocks for fluid system tube lines about?
BS M 62 is a standard that covers the design and qualification testing of clamp blocks for fluid system tube lines to ensure proper connectivity and prevent any leaks.
BS M 62 gives definitions for clamp blocks for tube lines having axial alignments, with or without electrical grounding, designed for a range of tube outside diameters from 4 to 32 mm selected from ISO 2964.
BS M 62 lays down the dimensions of clamp blocks and specifies the test methods for qualification testing.
Who is BS M 62 - Testing of clamp blocks for fluid system tube lines for?
BS M 62 on testing of clamp blocks for fluid system tube lines applies to:
- Manufacturers of clamp blocks
- Dealers and importers of clamp blocks
- Testing houses and labs for clamp blocks
- Quality assurance services
- Regulatory bodies
Why should you use BS M 62 - Testing of clamp blocks for fluid system tube lines?
Clamp blocks permit the fastening of tubes in fluid systems. A clamp block for tubing is a device used on aerospace vehicles for fixing tubings, the dimensions of which may be different and which are constituted from materials that may be different.
BS M 62 provides users guidance on the classification of clamp blocks based on three classes depending on the outside diameter and height, enabling users to classify and identify clamp blocks for their particular use cases to ensure compatibility with the existing systems and installations in aerospace applications.
BS M 62 provides users guidance on the dimensions of clamp blocks, including maximum height, nominal radius, width of removable parts and clamp block bolt spacing, enabling users to standardize the dimensional properties of clamp blocks for improved compatibility.
BS M 62 also provides users guidance on qualification tests for clamp blocks, including electrical tests, mechanical tests, vibration test and flame resistance test to ensure stable operability and functioning of clamp blocks in aerospace applications.
With obedience and compliance to BS M 62, users can develop and assess clamp blocks to ensure quality, performance and durability in aerospace vehicles.
