What is PD 6507 - Metric screw threads and fasteners about?
PD 6507 discusses standards for metric screw threads and metric fasteners. PD 6507 establishes a range of metric screw threads for fasteners of thread diameter 0.8 mm to 0.5 mm inclusive and a range of metric attachment threads for fittings and mountings of thread diameter 3.0 mm to 20.0 mm inclusive that are suitable for model engineering application.
In order to enable fine-scale to be reproduced where imperial sizes of hexagon fasteners were used in the prototype, sizes of hexagon heads of fasteners and hexagon nuts need to choose carefully, the scaling of metric sizes presents no difficulty, as metric hexagons can be chosen from standard ranges.
Metric fastener screw threads are applicable to bolts, screws and nuts and their diameter and corresponding pitches. Metric attachment screw threads are applicable to fittings and mountings and their diameters and corresponding pitches.
Who is PD 6507 - Metric screw threads and fasteners for?
PD 6507 on metric screw threads and fasteners is useful for:
- Model engineers
- Manufacturers and suppliers of metric screws and fasteners
- Industries where metric screw thread and fasteners are used (automobile, mold, machinery, electronics, construction industry, etc)
- Organisations that design and maintain screw threads and fasteners
- Mechanical engineers
- Design engineers
- Quality control personnel
- Inspection bodies
- Research and development team
Why should you use PD 6507 - Metric screw threads and fasteners?
The metric screw thread is the most commonly used type of general-purpose screw thread worldwide. PD 6507 provides you with guidance on metric screw threads and metric fasteners for use by model engineers.
PD 6507 covers all requirements and specifications such as dimensions of hexagon heads for bolts and screws, dimensions of hexagon nuts, available lengths of metric bolts and screws, dimensions of metric fastener threads and metric attachment threads, dimensions of hexagons for union nuts and similar applications of metric attachments.
PD 6507 helps users to get acknowledged with the designation and certification process for the metric model engineer screw threads, fasteners and attachments. Following the specifications provided in PD 6507, help you to manufacture and supply high-quality, durable metric model engineer screw threads and fasteners to your customers.
