What is PD IEC PAS 63329 about?
PD IEC PAS 63329 is a standard that covers Zhaga interface specification Book 1 and Book 14 for LED light engines and LED modules which ensures safety and compliance with regulatory rules.
In PD IEC PAS 63329, Book 14 defines three socketable LED Light Engines (with integrated Electronic Control Gears) and three socketable LED Modules (without integrated Electronic Control Gears). These LED Modules and LLEs have a rectangular shape and are typically applied in general lighting applications.
PD IEC PAS 63329 covers LED Modules and the LLEs feature contact Caps which fit in corresponding contact Holders of the Luminaire. The contact Caps and contact Holders have keys matching specific electrical characteristics of the LED Module or LED Light Engine.
Who is PD IEC PAS 63329 for?
PD IEC PAS 63329 on Zhaga interface specification Book 1 and Book 14 applies to:
- Manufacturers of LED light engines and modules
- Dealers, suppliers and importers of LED light engines and modules
- Testing houses and labs for LED light engines and modules
Why should you use PD IEC PAS 63329?
The Zhaga Consortium is a global organization that aims to standardize components of LED Luminaires. A LED Luminaire is a lighting fixture for general lighting that contains a light source based on solid-state technology. Such light sources, including LED Modules and LED Light Engines, typically consist of one or more LEDs combined with an Electronic Control Gear.
PD IEC PAS 63329 provides you guidance on mechanical interface, photometric interface, electrical interface, thermal interface, control interface, compliance test tools that ensures the safety and performance of LED light engines and LED modules.
Guidance in PD IEC PAS 63329 allows you to ensure the safety and performance of LED light engine and LED modules and ensures compliance with regulatory rules.
