SAE J1117â„¢ APR2026 establishes a standardized procedure for measuring and reporting pressure losses associated with significant flow paths in hydraulic fluid power valves. It covers test conditions, required test information, accuracy limits, test procedures, tare pressure differential calculations, data presentation, standardized fluid and temperature values, and reporting requirements.
The recommended practice applies to hydraulic fluid power valves used on off-road self-propelled work machines defined in SAE J1116 and uses SI units in accordance with ISO 80000-1. It supersedes SAE J1117 APR2019.
Application Scope: Hydraulic valve testing, pressure differential and flow characterization, off-road self-propelled work machine systems, laboratory testing, engineering validation, and technical performance reporting.
